Aon reported total debt of $28,041m at 30 September 2026, compared with $15,249m at 31 December 2025. The broker issued $13,404m of debt in the first nine months of the year and repaid $593m. It says the borrowing near the end of the third quarter funds its acquisition of USI Insurance Services, which it agreed during the quarter and expects to complete in the fourth quarter.

After closing, Aon says it will prioritise debt repayment and expects to return to its leverage objective of 2.8 to 3.0 times in about 24 months. It bought back no shares in the third quarter, after $1.1bn in the first nine months, and had about $7.7bn of repurchase authorisation remaining. The quarter included $25m of transaction costs for the deal.

Total revenue rose 3% to $4,101m from $3,997m, with organic revenue growth of 6%. Commercial Risk Solutions and Reinsurance Solutions each grew 7% organically, Health Solutions 6% and Wealth Solutions 4%. The reported operating margin fell to 19.7% from 20.4%, while the adjusted operating margin rose to 27.0% from 26.3%.

Net income attributable to Aon shareholders increased 4% to $476m. Diluted earnings per share rose 6% to $2.23 and adjusted earnings per share 10% to $3.36. Free cash flow for the first nine months was $1,943m, 3% more than a year earlier.
