Generali's board, chaired by Andrea Sironi, approved changes to the group's organisation on 20 October, as proposed by Group CEO Philippe Donnet. The insurer says the changes support the final phase of its "Lifetime Partner 27: Driving Excellence" plan, prepare for the 2028–2030 strategic cycle and make coordination between head office and the markets leaner.
From 2 November, Group Deputy CEO Giulio Terzariol adds global investment management, group operations, marketing and customer, and group security to his responsibilities, and the General Manager role is discontinued. Group Chief Transformation Officer Cécile Paillard adds sustainability and, from 1 January, insurance M&A. A new Group Insurance & Business Performance unit under Santiago Villa covers the Life & Health, P&C and Reinsurance segments. Finance, people, communications, legal and Generali Investments Holding continue to report to Donnet.
From 1 January 2027, five market areas will report to Terzariol: Western Europe and Latin America under Jean-Laurent Granier; Italy and Global Corporate & Commercial under Giancarlo Fancel; Germany under Stefan Lehmann; Asia under Roberto Leonardi; and Austria and Central Eastern Europe under Gregor Pilgram. Redion Group, Generali's platform for assistance and employee benefits, led by Antoine Parisi, will also report to him.
Laetitia Léonard-Reuter will become chief executive of Generali France from 1 January, subject to board and supervisory approvals, and Pilgram becomes CEO of Generali CEE Holding. Marco Sesana and Jaime Anchústegui leave the group on 31 December. Donnet said the structure will "accelerate the Group’s transformation".
