Dubai to fit delivery motorcycles with cameras and sensors to track rider behaviour

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will monitor delivery riders with cameras fitted to their motorcycles, IoT devices and a digital platform, The National reported. The system tracks speed, location and driving behaviour and flags sudden acceleration, harsh braking and route patterns.

Delivery companies will receive real-time information on their fleets and riders, which they can use to assess riders and plan training. Installation is optional until the end of the first half of 2027 and becomes mandatory after that for delivery companies that operate in Dubai. Dubai Police and other authorities helped develop the system.

Saeed Al Ramsi, the RTA's director of licensing activities monitoring, called the system "a step-change in monitoring of delivery activity".
