Ageas's esure launches car insurance quotes inside ChatGPT and says it is the first UK motor insurer to do so

Ageas says its esure brand is the first UK motor insurer to offer direct car insurance quotes inside ChatGPT. The in-house app asks drivers a set of questions and returns a quote in a couple of minutes; to buy, adjust the cover quoted or see other options, customers go to esure's own website. esure says the app answers questions but gives no advice.

Ageas has put car insurance quotes for its esure brand inside ChatGPT and says this makes it the first UK motor insurer to offer a direct quote there, Insurance Age reported on 30 October. The claim is Ageas's own and was not independently checked.

The app was built in-house. A driver answers a series of questions in the chat and receives a quote in what the insurer calls "a couple of minutes". To buy, adjust the cover being quoted or look at other options, the driver moves to the esure website, so the sale stays in esure's own systems.

The app listing, reported by Coverager, splits the roles: OpenAI supplies the chat and AI functions, while esure is responsible for the answers shown in its own branded section. esure says the app answers insurance questions but gives no advice. The cover is underwritten by esure Insurance Limited.

The launch follows other insurer quote apps in ChatGPT. Aviva began offering preliminary home insurance quotes there in March 2026, also sending customers to its own website to complete the purchase, and said it would monitor customer interactions before adding other products.
