Marsh Re has put two Dubai-based people from inside the Marsh group in charge of its Middle East business, naming Nathalie Zaatar and Talal Sharif as co-heads for the region, Reinsurance News reported on 6 October. According to the broker, their leadership will support continued growth of its broking and advisory services there.

Both come from senior vice president roles in Dubai: Zaatar has led treaty work at Marsh for more than five years, and Sharif has been senior vice president for IMEA at Marsh Re for three years. Together they have close to four decades of insurance and reinsurance experience, the report said.

Their earlier careers were also in treaty business. Zaatar was treaty executive director at Aon Benfield Middle East and began as a non-life underwriter in 1999, and Sharif worked as a treaty broker at Lockton Re. The report did not name a predecessor or say to whom the pair will report.
