Doha-based Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) said on 28 October that its net profit for the nine months to 30 September 2026 fell 4.3% to QR562m. Profit attributable to shareholders fell 4% to QR550m, or QR0.104 a share.

The top line grew. Insurance revenue rose 14% to QR7.4bn and gross written premiums rose 9% to QR8.5bn. However, the insurance service result fell 4.7% to QR336m, which the group links to the regional conflict.

QIC says the effect of the conflict was concentrated in its international operations, mainly in specialty lines such as war, terrorism, political violence and related marine classes. It strengthened reserves for the event during the nine months but does not give an amount. Group chief executive Salem Al Mannai said its exposures are "adequately reserved on an actuarial best-estimate basis".

Investment income rose 5.6% to QR749m, a yield of 5.6%. This includes a one-off gain from the sale of 13.75% of QIC's stake in Beema; without it, the group says investment income was broadly stable. The release does not give a combined ratio or figures by segment.
